Mdina. Medieval town – the old capital of Malta Playmobile Knight of St. John – home base was in Malta after they were kicked out of many other countries. (Bad hair day!)Back in VallettaCo-Cathedral of St. John. Caravaggio’s most famous painting about the beheading of John the Baptist. The entire floor of the gigantic church was covered with Knights’ tombs. Room with a view!
I watched a documentary on Malta and they highlighted the cathedral and the painting. They also talked about the labour of keeping the gold leaf as it was. Tons of work.
